Jenson is still hurting badly today. His tummy is so distended it is hard for him to get air, so his breaths are short and labored.
They put a tube down his nose to try to suction out some of the pressure in his belly. The infamous tube...
We have seen this tube a few times before on very dark days. The first time was after the surgeon error and nick on his colon and surgery that followed. The second time was a few weeks later when he got a complete poop obstruction. Both times, we weren't sure if he was going to make it.
Just the sight of that tube brings horrible flashbacks and sends us into an emotional tailspin. I hate that tube!
Jenson is also a hater of the tube that winds down his nose to his gut. But today he is barely fighting it... that is how bad he feels.
They just did an ultrasound to see if he has another issue with his liver and check to see if he has a complete blockage in his gut or still just air. Finally, a glimmer of hope. His liver looks fine and the air in the bowel looks like same as yesterday (but at least it's not worse).
The tube starts suctioning out some stuff that looks the color of a mood ring. While not feeling great, at least Jenson's belly isn't rock hard right now. Ok, maybe I don't hate what the tube does I just hate the suffering it represents.
The GI doctors are going to take a look later today too.
So we wait, hoping the dreaded tube brings relief...
