Jenson is doing a loud grunt/moan each time a nurse or doctor comes near him. It is like he wants to scream out, "Stop touching me! I am so sick of this!!!". Instead he says, "Please leave me alone."
January 31, 2012 was supposed to be the start of Jenson's new life. Every day since has felt more like our old life than a new one.
We have been on this horrible ride for years that keeps spinning round and round. It won't stop spinning and despite many attempts, we can't get off. I never dreamed this would happen to us.
I know Sydney's cells are our ticket off this ride. We are just so dizzy, nauseous, and tired it is sometimes hard to believe we will ever be able to step down safely.
We hit another milestone, a day we have been avoiding for 2 1/2 years. Jenson's hair has been falling out in clumps. He just got his hair washed, and now he has only a few whisps of hair left on his bald little head. His hair provided some level of normalcy through the years of chemo as we could go out in public without everyone staring. Now it is hard not to stare with his bald head a sign of the trials he is weathering...too bad he won't wear hats.
I am trying to change my perspective on the hair loss. Perhaps this is just a final shedding of all the old to start a fresh new life. We hope to see signs of this new life from Sydney's cells soon.
2 Corinthians 5:17
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
Time to Remember

Thank you for the regular updates. Praying for your family many times daily. A friend who's father is in chemo recently shared this verse of encouragement--Exodus 14:14, "the lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace and remain at rest." Praying for peace and rest for you all. Charlotte
ReplyDeleteAMEN! I was bald twice. As a baby and a Marine recruit. Keep on fighting my Histio Warrior.
