The dates for the bone marrow transplant has been set - Tuesday, January 31. This means chemo starts Monday, January 23.
However, we may have another complication. Jenson has some extra fluid coming out from his surgery incision area from his new triple line. He has three lines - a blue line, red line, yellow line (all of which sound more like a subway system than something inside a child).
One of the three lines (the blue line) may have a problem. They will be doing a dye study today at 4pm to see where the fluid is going.
There are two likely possibilities.
It could be there is some extra fluid from the surgery due to his low platelet counts near where the blue line runs and whenever fluid runs through it gets pushed out. This would be solved with a platelet transfusion (no big deal in the scheme of things).
Or, it could be there is a small tear like a small hole in a sprinkler system. This would be awful as it would mean surgery to remove the existing triple line and replace it with a new triple line. Please God, don't let this be the case. No more trauma for our little Histio Warrior! He's battled enough and has a big battle on the horizon.
Our dream of a day without some sort of drama/complication isn't coming true today.

So Sorry to hear about another problem. Hopefully it will be the extra fluid and not the tear. You are not alone. Please Please heal this little boy. Amen!
