Jenson is back in the hospital...back in his blue hospital pjs.
It all started Wednesday. We left for the appointment with Jenson feeling great. He was even eating so much we were able to stop the daytime feeds through the tube. He got IvIG immune system booster at his Wednesday appointment. Later that night he developed a low grade fever leaving us wondering if a midnight ER visit was in the cards. His fever stayed below the 100.5 degree threshold so we got to stay home.
Thursday brought the FISH results, no eating, and Jenson feeling crummy all day. He rested most of the day but bad days can happen out of the blue post transplant. He threw up a couple times. He was complaining of head and back pain and didn't sleep most of the night (didn't we just live through this story line???).
Today Doug took Jenson to clinic. He still wasn't feeling well and didn't want to eat. They did x-rays to rule out new lesions - thankfully there are no new tumors and a slight improvement in the ones detected before. Jenson needed a blood transfusion. Just as the blood transfusion was finishing, he threw up again and developed a greyish rash on his feet. They decided to admit him to be safe and to run some extra tests.
What is causing the throwing up again? What is with the strange grey rash? Is this related to the IvIG or blood transfusions or disease flare up or weaning him off the immunosuppressive drugs or something totally different? What is up?
Hopefully this hospital stay will be short lived and bring some answers to the puzzling question of what is up. At least we have a nurse call button again. :-)
