How is the recovering going? Slow and steady... which is better than backsliding.
The doctors say his transplant is moving very slow compared to other cases. They suspect it is due to how histio infested his body was prior to the transplant. One of the nurses told kids who fly through transplant too easily often replapse, so some tough times aren't a bad thing. Tough times are good...another perspective change.
Jenson's counts are slowing coming up. He still needs blood and platelet transfusions every other day as these are one of the last things to recover. Today is bringing lots of rashes and very sensitive skin as Sydney's cells continue to engraft.
The key now is eating. He has until Friday to eat or drink enough calories on his own, or back comes the tube. Jenson hates that tube snaked down his nose, so pray he will be able to get enough calories on his own.
They are repeating the engraftment test again on Monday just to be safe since this is their first LCH transplant. Maybe we will get 100% this time??? We will know later next week.
