Let's start with the good news. Jenson's c-diff is gone! Yippy!!! That is really great news.
The bad news, his infection in his port is a type of staf infection. They are treating with a heavy duty antibiotic and watching the blood culture growth to see exactly what type and determine ongoing the best antibiotic treatment. With this type of staf infection, it typically responds to antibiotics. If it doesn't, it would require emergency surgery for his port to be removed. We're in for at least 7 days (up to 10 days) of antibiotic treatment through his port. We're praying the medicine will work!
Sydney visited at the hospital for a while today. Jenson started out the day really not feeling well with continued stomach cramping and pain and fever. As the visit went on, he started feeling better and even did 3 laps around the hall while he followed her pulling a toy car laughing as she made it go in circles. Her visit really brightened his spirits. I told her, "Your visit really helped Jenson. Thanks for being such a great big sister." Sweet little moment.
Late in the day, another bad stomach cramping moment. Ups and downs.
We're continuing to take things a minute at a time and trying to focus on the good moments.
