Today brought more fevers. Why???
We talked to the doctor, and he said he didn't believe it's from the staf infection because the last 5 blood cultures didn't show any staf. He also said the very potent antibiotic Jenson is on should kill any bacteria anywhere in the body, so he doesn't believe the fevers are from a bacterial infection.
He said he now is thinking it may be a virus. A virus??? He has no symptoms of any type of virus and neither do we, and he hasn't been anywhere but the hospital (I realize as I'm typing that I should perhaps be more suspicious of this given our recent track record with hospital acquired infections).
So the nurse comes in with a giant 12" cotton swab to stick up Jenson's nose to get a sample to test for the most common viruses. He's sees that thing coming, and you can guess his reaction.
Doug and I are skeptical this is the cause of the fevers, but who knows what else it is... please pray for wisdom.
Cute story: We were walking down the hall today with Jenson to get some yogurt for him from the fridge. This is the highlight of his day (I'm not kidding!) and as he gets it he says, "Yay! It's yogurt. It's yogurt! Yay!". He wants to carry it back to the room and sees an open door to a hospital room and says, "This Jenson's room?". "No, your room is down here buddy" we say. He gets to his hospital room door and says, "This one my room?". We say, "Yes!" and then he goes, "Awh, home."
That is just like my little boy, making the best of a long, unexpected hospital stay full of ups and downs and finding comfort in his "home away from home".
There is sooooo much to love about Jenson!
