He'd wait patiently at the table with his bowl of plain rice - the salt and pepper next to it. "Go ahead and start eating," I'd say.
"No, need you sit down. Sit here," Jenson would smile and point to the chair next to him. "Need pepper," he'd say with a smile. I'd grind the pepper onto his rice and watch him excitedly bounce up and down, "More! Need more pepper!"
He'd grab the spoon with his left hand, fill it with peppered rice, and grin as he tasted the flavor on his lips. Pepper gave the plain rice a completely different taste.
Life is often peppered with different tastes. Spicy. Sour. Sweet. Without flavoring, life would be bland.
Seasoning gives life flavor. Appreciate each taste.
