Triggers

It is amazing how something so simple can trigger so many emotions.

On Friday night I pulled into the parking lot just in time to make it to Sydney's cheer game before she ran through the giant blow-up tunnel with her team.  My friend Stacey pulled up near me with Sydney's friend Riley and her little blonde haired brother Parker.  Parker headed excitedly towards the door as Stacey was helping Riley get everything she needed from the car.  I hurried along after him and reached out my hand to make sure he didn't make a last minute to head to the parking lot on the other side.

And then it happened...as he grabbed my hand the simple feeling of a little boy's hand in mine transported me back.  Memories of caring for Jenson and making sure he stayed along the pathway, memories of what it felt like to hold his little hand in mine, memories of how much he loved his mama and always wanted to be snuggled up on my lap.  Little boys love their mamas.

I'm glad there will always be triggers reminding me of those memories and my deep love for my boy.
