"Nurse Friends"

A heart so big I’ve never seen

A love so pure and true

You serve us as the waves crash in

Bringing things we never knew

As our life is turned upside down

Right by our side you stay

Despite our nerves, anger, and fear

You never go away

You diligently protect

The children you’re called to serve

Cleaning hands, cleaning lines

Giving “our kids” the care they deserve

You accept our child’s changes

The bald head and puffy cheeks

You encourage us along the way

Comforting us when we weep

You watch with your heart open

Not knowing how it will end

Some will win, some will depart

Leaving your heart again to mend

Thank you for your compassionate care

To help our loved one through
