Monkey Grins

I am so proud of my kids.  Their compassionate hearts amaze me.  "Monkey Grins" is a great example.

It all started with a simple statement from Jenson.  He was in Children's hospital recovering from his bone marrow transplant.  I showed him a picture of a little boy his age named Marcus.  Marcus was in the hospital for his second bone marrow transplant to fight Histio.  Jenson immediately said, "I need send him a monkey!".

Sydney wanted to help Histio families too.  She decided brothers and sisters need monkeys too and added lolli-pops to the care package for more smiles.  With a little help from mama on the marketing side, "Monkey Grins" was created.

We now have partnered with the Histiocytosis Association to reach as many Histio families as possible.  We want Histio families to know they are not alone.  Other people care and want to bring them a smile.

The packing and mailing of each "Monkey Grin" is such a gift to us.  It has helped with the healing process knowing Jenson's compassionate heart lives on.   Seeing the pictures of kids and families with their monkeys and lollies brings smiles to our faces.  If you are a Histio family, please request one through the Histiocytosis Association web-site --- we LOVE sending them and have lots of stuffed monkeys in need of a home.

Many of you have asked how you can get involved with "Monkey Grins".  Thanks to Mike Neely (web designer extraordinaire), we now have a web-site www.monkeygrins.org.  You can either donate new monkeys (any type, any size) or make an on-line donation.  Help us send smiles through Monkey Grins!

Love,
The Aaron family
