Tough day for the little guy

This was a really tough day for Jenson. He's in a lot of pain today. He woke up throwing up. He also has a thick tube down his nose to his stomach pumping out fluid until his body starts functioning properly. It's been suctioning out a lot of fluid today. My mom had one before and said it's horribly uncomfortable and hurts to talk. That explains why he's only said a couple words today. He also had yet to pee on his own and the doctors had said if he didn't pee by 7:30pm he would need a temporary catheter. We definitely didn't want to have to put him through that as he only had it removed this morning and it obviously hurt because he had his bunny over his belly and diaper area all day to protect it and would freak out when you pulled down his blanket which has been over his belly. We've been praying for his bladder to start working again to spare him the trauma.

The one thing he did say is "Where Sydney? Where grandpa?". Sydney has been staying with my parents when she's not at preschool and they said they thought she needed to see him today because while putting on a brave face they said she was doing things like biting her nails and acting a little worried, so she came to visit at the hospital tonight.

Jenson has been really groggy with his eyes barely open and snuggling with me all day, but when Sydney and grandma and grandpa walked in his eyes opened wider and lit up for the first time today.

I went with Syd and Grandma and Grandpa to grab a quick dinner in the hospital cafeteria, and was watching the clock as Jenson still hadn't peed and it was 7pm. More pee prayers ... Never thought I'd be praying for that.

When we got back Doug is thrilled because he just peed and we have a little "pee party" in the room at 7:15pm!!!

Jenson really enjoyed seeing his visitors and is snuggled next to me now resting. Thanks for all the prayers and support. Please keep praying for a full recovery.

Kristin
