A little better but a long way to go

Today Jenson is more alert and definitely more independent. He didn't want me in the bed with him all day (which is a really good sign), but he's also not willing to move much. He's surrounded himself with all his stuffed animal friends and is guarding his belly and diaper area with his life and freaking out whenever his diaper is changed (this is called post traumatic catheter removal stress disorder).

He did have an ever so slight smile crinkle in his eyes when I was playing hide and seek behind the bathroom door. He had lots of visits today and got a good nap in this afternoon.

As I was typing this entry chaos engulfed the room as his heart rate dropped from 100 to 50 and 4 nurses and 2 doctors came racing in. They gave him oxygen, took X-rays, changed his monitor on his foot, and did blood draws. His hearts rate returned to normal and all the tests came back negative. Just another reminder we're not totally out of the woods yet.

Keep praying for a full recovery.
