Being on Jenson's journey is filled with constant medical questions and one of the challenges is to determine what is something to be concerned about and what you don't need to worry about.
Last week was chemo Monday and we met with our oncologist who was on vacation or tied up our last few visits. So needless to say, we had quite a few medical questions. On the F-PIES info, he suggested talking to our GI doctor as well (why didn't we think of that???).
We also told him about this strange cradle cap Jenson has that has been removed 3+ times and keeps coming back with this last round seeming a bit thicker than before. He indicated the cradle cap could be caused by LCH, but he recommended seeing our pediatric dematologist to have her check whether it could be something else or if it's LCH. Doug took Jenson on Friday, and she said to try a few things first and if they don't work that she'd want to biopsy his scalp to rule out continued overproduction of histiocyte cells.
Then there are the poops (note: poop detail coming your way to skim if you want)... the chemo makes him constipated so we give him Miralax. For a long time since he's been on chemo he's been super constipated. But the past 2 weekends he's been a pooping machine with 8-10 a day (I kid you not as I generally have weekend poop changing duty). So - does that mean things are getting better and his body is functioning more normally and he doesn't need Miralax anymore??? Another unanswered question.
We just have to trust in God and take things a day at a time because all the questions and unanswered questions can drive you crazy! One day at a time...
