Fun in the sun!!!

If you had a chance to go up to a beautiful home in Sonoma wine country would you take it? Of course you would!!! And so did we when Doug's aunt and uncle (Joe & Beth) invited us to come up and stay in their home while they were out of town.

We went up two weekends in a row as a family and had a blast! While life with 2 kids at this age doesn't consist of Doug and I trying out many vineyards (it's more like the 2 of us crashing at the end of the day with a glass of wine), we had a different type of family fun instead.

They have a backyard (yay!), a pool, a great outdoor living space AND they are only 4 blocks from the Sonoma square and park for kids. So we had a great time walking to the square, getting sandwiches, playing on the swings, watching the ducks, swimming in the pool with Sydney (Jenson is currently boycotting any type of pool), playing ball, blowing bubbles, and relaxing as much as you can with two young kids.

Jenson is very into walking now, so had a really fun time exploring different things and walking around. His huge cheeks are (dare I say) starting to jiggle a little bit less as he's on the go more. And Sydney had just come off of swim lessons and is now more comfortable with the water. She wanted to be in there for hours each day, especially after I made up the "Aurora dance" in the pool... which is not to be repeated for public display as it includes not only dancing but my rendition of "Once Upon A Dream".

It really was refreshing! Wine country is so beautiful and we're blessed to have had this opportunity for a "mini summer vacation", especially since we aren't flying anywhere while Jenson is on chemo. What a great time!!!

Thanks Uncle Joe & Aunt Beth!

Kristin, Doug, Sydney, and Jenson
